A detached cottage for 4 people (+ 1 baby aged 0–2 years) on the edge of Schaijk, with De Maashorst literally at your doorstep. No hustle, no rush. Instead, forests, heath and open plains where you might encounter a herd of bison.
Inside it is light and warm, with a pleasant living room and spacious kitchen. Outside you have a wonderful enclosed garden at your disposal to fully relax. The place where the day often starts with coffee and ends with a game.
Ideal for couples, families, friends and nature lovers who just want to do nothing.

From the front door you're in the forest within minutes. Walking and cycling without having to get the car first.

From games, puzzles and coloring books for young and old to a trampoline and scooters: there is plenty to do. There is also a playground on the campsite for the children. Go out in nature, play a game together or simply enjoy the peace.

There is a cafeteria on the campsite. There is also a supermarket 5 minutes drive away.
Nice spots nearby
Eat at the forest hut, one of the nicest forest cafés in North Brabant. Or visit the fortified towns of Grave or Ravenstein.

Want to cool off? Take a dip in the large swimming pool on the campsite. A large pool and a small pool, something for everyone.
The story behind the name
Why 't Vuurgoudhaantje?
Our love for birds and nature inspired the name of the cottage. The firecrest is one of the smallest birds in the Netherlands. Sometimes you have to stand still and look carefully to spot it.
And that is exactly the feeling we want to share with this place: slow down, look around and enjoy the little things. From a bird in the garden and a cup of coffee in the morning sun to playing a game together or coming home after a long walk through the forest.
Just do nothing. Simply be, discover and enjoy.

Nature, bison and our tips
De Maashorst is the largest contiguous nature reserve in North Brabant: forests, heathland and open plains. You can enjoy wonderful walks and cycling, and along the way encounter special residents: bison, aurochs and Exmoor ponies.
