Enjoy beautiful nature
The Maashorst right at your door
From 't Vuurgoudhaantje you're in the middle of nature in no time. The Maashorst is an extensive natural area in eastern Brabant, where you can hike endlessly and search for bison, aurochs and Exmoor ponies.
The primeval region of Brabant
The largest natural area in North Brabant
The Maashorst is the largest contiguous natural area in North Brabant. The area is located between Oss, Heesch, Nistelrode, Uden, Zeeland and Schaijk and consists of old forest paths, extensive heathlands and sand flats, but also special wetlands and open grasslands. Among these pearls lie burial mounds, and the great grazers roam.
The beauty lies in the variety. In a single walk you go from dense forest to open sand flats to heathland. Each season looks different: purple in August, misty and quiet in November, and in spring you hear the forest waking up.
